In 2016 the Board of Education adopted the facilities master plan which outlines the District's capital improvement needs. The plan is for the District to accomplish the building improvement priorities over a ten year period. In April 2017 the District ran a no tax increase bond issue which completed six projects identified within the plan: Construction of Woodland Early Childhood Center, playground renovations, District stadium improvements, high school breezeway enclosure for improved safety, upgraded walking tracks and a new District freezer. The District has met with a community engagement committee in order to help prioritize remaining projects in the District’s facilities master plan. In the coming weeks, as part of the process to determine interest, a phone survey will be conducted with district patrons as well as an email to staff. The results will help the District gauge the interest of the projects that are being considered. The projects could be placed on the ballot for consideration as early as April 2021. The projects being considered are improvements to all school kitchens, a new FOHS varsity gym, a new transportation/maintenance/central office building, Blue Hills Elementary and central campus parking lot improvements, FOHS band room improvements and Fire Prairie traffic improvements.
