On Saturday, April 21 staff, parents, students, and community members gathered for the 2nd Annual Operation Fort Pride. Thanks to our volunteers, we were able to clean up debris, trim trees, lay mulch, clean up playgrounds, and plant flowers. It was a great feeling of pride on Monday morning when students and staff arrived to see the improvements at Blue Hills and Fort Osage High School. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help. Look for more details on the 3rd Annual Operation Fort Pride in the spring of 2019. We have great things occurring with the Go365 wellness program. Tracking your wellness activity on Go365 has a direct correlation with our January 2019 insurance renewal. Having over 40% of employees and retirees who are on the District's insurance meeting silver status will reduce our future increase. Currently 48% of those on health insurance have met Silver Status! We can have additional savings if more people receive Gold and Platinum status. Read below for a few ways to earn more points
We are continuing to prepare the budget for the Board’s approval at their June meeting. The additional revenue generated by the levy passage remains positive, which made a balanced budget attainable this current fiscal year. Next year, as expenditures continue to increase, Fort Osage will run a tight budget. I have been working with the salary committee and insurance committee throughout the year. My goal is to honor the efforts of our outstanding staff while being fiscally responsible.
